  • The App - Beauty Buddy is an app for all things beauty and cosmetics. Take us to the store with you, scan a product and see what other people within our community have to say about it. Scroll the latest product reviews, leave your own reviews, earn points and give back.

    The Squad - Join our Beauty Squad where we exchange free products and points for your product reviews, feedback and social media content.   • Everyone! At Beauty Buddy we want to give everyone the opportunity to have their say when it comes to beauty products, we are all about inclusivity and diversity. To become eligible to join in our campaigns where we exchange products for your honest feedback you need to

    - Download the app

    - Create your account

    - Add 5 honest product reviews (include videos of the products in use for extra points) and

    - Complete the “About Me” section which helps us send suitable products to you.

  • Nothing! Beauty Buddy is free and always has been. In our campaigns where we send you free products in exchange for your feedback we ship them to you at no cost.

    Don’t forget you can earn points by simply leaving reviews in the app and answering specific surveys. You can use these points to plant trees, donate to charities or pick up a voucher to treat yourself with (vouchers vary and are available while stocks last).

  • Absolutely! Beauty Buddy is available for download worldwide. Keep in mind that while the app works globally, currently all reviews are in English. And just so you know Beauty Buddy Squad campaigns, where products are posted, are limited to individuals living in the UK and Ireland at the moment.

  • Welcome aboard! To kick off your Beauty Buddy journey, start by sharing your reviews. Share thoughts on the products you already have in your collection and for that extra flair add some captivating photos or videos or the product being used to earn more points.

    If you're on the lookout for reviews on a specific product, you can either use the search bar or simply scan the product's barcode for quick access. Ready to share your beauty product experiences? Let's get started!

  • You can easily download Beauty Buddy from the Google Play Store or the App Store. Simply search for it or save yourself a step and download it right here.

  • Once you've got Beauty Buddy on your device, it's time to create your account. Choose the convenience of signing in with your Gmail or Apple account. If you prefer, you can also use your email address. Make sure to personalise your profile with a profile image, pick a username and let us know your date of birth and country. And voila, you're in! Your beauty journey with us is about to begin.

  • Gain points by just answering surveys and leaving reviews! Redeem those points! You can use these points to plant trees, donate to charities or pick up a voucher to treat yourself with (vouchers vary and are available while stocks last).

BEAUTY squad

  • The Beauty Squad is a community of inclusive Beauty Buddies dedicated to using and reviewing products. As part of the Beauty Squad you are eligible to receive free products as part of Product Sampling, Consumer Video Content Campaigns and Consumer Perception Trials. Participants are selected based on attributes that the Brand is targeting, that could be age, skin concerns or eye colour and their level of engagement and participation in the app. Note that if you receive a free product and do not complete the campaign steps this decreases your chances of receiving more free products in the future.   • The Beauty Squad is open to any and all members of the Beauty Buddy community. To become eligible to receive free products to use and review, there are a few steps.

    - Download the app

    - Create your account

    - Add 5 honest product reviews (include videos of the products in use for extra points) and

    - Complete the “About Me” section which helps us send suitable products to you.

    Brands that we work with select their target audience based on the criteria in the “About Me” for example, thin hair, dry skin concerns. When you meet the criteria and are selected for a campaign you will be notified via email and a short survey will appear in the app for you to confirm your interest in joining the campaign. As part of this you will confirm that you are interested in receiving the free product in exchange for your feedback which may be in the form of a review, video content or a survey. You can expect to receive your box shortly after that!

    The surveys are on a first come first serve basis, so as soon as you see the launch of a campaign on social media, in your inbox go check out the app to see if you have been shortlisted.

  • Your details help us ensure that every product we send you is suitable for you. We don’t want to send you a new moisturiser for dry skin if you have oily skin. We aim to get not a good but the perfect fit for you. The brands use the criteria to select who they believe that their products will suit best.

  • Are you 110% sure you are in the Beauty Squad? To check go to your profile page and you should see your VIP Squad Badge.

    If you don’t have this badge they just make sure you have added your 5 product reviews and complete your “About Me” details.

    Now, if you're part of the Beauty Squad and haven’t received a product yet, your turn should be just around the corner. Keep an eye on the Beauty Buddy App for a survey that might pop up asking if you're interested in participating in a Campaign. These surveys are key to you receiving a product and are on a first come first serve basis. They become fully subscribed very quickly so keep an eye out on social media for campaign drops and your inbox for notifications.

    Pro tip: Stay active on the app! The more reviews and videos you add, the higher your chances of being selected for exciting future campaigns.

  • As much as we'd love to share the beauty love worldwide, for now, the Beauty Buddy Squad program is exclusively available in the UK and Ireland. We're working hard to expand our horizons, so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, keep that beauty spirit alive wherever you are! You can still earn points for your reviews and for completing specific surveys.

  • While meeting the profile criteria is key, being active on the app gives you a VIP pass to the front of the line.

    The magic formula? Keep those reviews coming! The more active you are – sharing your thoughts, photos and videos, liking or commenting on other reviews, the higher your chances of being selected to try new products. Also, 1000% sure you are subscribed to the our newsletter!

  • If you don’t add a review for a product we have sent you, you will receive reminders via email during the campaign and possibly a direct message on social media if the campaign requires social media video content.

    If at the end of the campaign your review isn’t added (normally four weeks) your account is flagged with an incomplete campaign. This decreases your chances of receiving more free products in the future.

  • The only thing that we ask is that you add an honest review and it’s great to add the reasons why you gave the product that specific rating. For example, This product only got a 1 star from me because after I applied it the foundation just went blotchy. I think it’s because my skin is very dry. I think this would suit people better that have normal or oily skin.

The app

  • Tap the SCAN button on the navigation menu at the bottom of your screen.

    Hold your phone so that the barcode is visible on your screen.

    It will scan automatically when the barcode is detected and open the product page. And that's it! Now you can read reviews for that product or add your own!

    If the barcode is not in our database and can’t be found in any of our partnering retailers it is automatically added for our team to manually investigate. We endeavour to add all products that are scanned and not found within 30 days where possible.

  • First, Use the search or scan function to find the product you want to review. Once you find your product, select "Rate now". The review screen will open.

    • Add a title for your review.

    • Now type your feedback about the product, remember we ask you to be honest, share your likes or dislikes, your experience and your thoughts about the product.

    • Don't forget to add some images or a video of the product in use, this will increase the points you earn for the review!

    • Then select your star rating, one star being the poorest and five stars being the best.

    • Finally select "Submit" to send your review!

    Well done! You have left a review of Beauty Buddy! Don't forget that leaving reviews helps others to decide if a product is right for them and it increases your chance to be selected for our next sampling campaign!

  • We add new products daily!

    But, If the barcode is not in our database and can’t be found in any of our partnering retailers it is automatically added for our team to manually investigate. We endeavour to add all products that are “scanned and not found” within 30 days where possible.

  • If you are having trouble accessing your account. Check if there is an update for the app. If so, install it. Then login using the method that you originally used. For example if you logged in using Google you will need to select google again.

    If you signed up with an email you can reset your password and try signing in again.

    If you still are having trouble logging in please email our support team hello@thebeautybuddy.com please include your username in the app and details of the issue you have encountered and we will get back in the app asap.

  • In the app you can go to your profile page, click on the burger menu, select account settings, select password reset. Simply enter your current password, your new password, confirm your new password and then save the changes. That’s it!

  • If you want to edit a review that you have added, go to your profile, scroll to find the review, click on the edit icon (shaped like a pencil). You can then change the title, description, rating, and delete or add new images or videos. At the moment you can add up to three images or one video.

    If you are improving your review by adding more details, images or a video and the review was completed originally in the same month you will receive any additional points you are entitled to. However, if the review was added in a previous month your changes do not impact the points you received (this may change in the future).

  • Beauty Buddy is an affiliate partner with a number of different Brands and Retailers. We do not sell products directly but when you are on most product pages you will see the BUY NOW button. If you click on this button a page displaying a list of Retailers and Brands, that have your selected product, will appear along with the price of the product (as of the latest update available). Discount codes that we are aware of will also be displayed. If a discount code is available when you select the Retailer or Brand to continue your purchasing journey with, their website will open on the product page and the discount code will be copied for you. Remember to paste the discount code when you are completing your purchase.

    If you make a purchase through a link from the app The Beauty Buddy Ltd may earn commission on the sale.

  • When you set up your account you get to choose your username. Once you have chosen your username you cannot change it within the app.

    However, if you set up your account and did not enter a username, it will be beautybuddy followed by random numbers e.g. beautybuddy43567. In this case you can go to your profile, click the burger menu in the top right hand corner and select Account Settings, select Personal. Here you will be able to set your username.

    It is possible to request a change of username by emailing us at hello@thebeautybuddy.com from the account's registered email address. The email address must be confirmed. One request per account is allowed. Please provide your current username and the proposed new username. If the new username is available the change will be made for you.

  • It is important to ensure that your address is correct and includes your postcode/eircode. We want to make sure anything we send you makes it safely to your door!

    To update your address go to your profile. Click on the burger menu in the top right corner. Select About Me, select Address. Edit your address and then click Save & Exit

    If your About Me section is incomplete it will prompt you to complete by bringing you to the first incomplete section. Remember you need to complete the About me to join the Beauty Squad.

surveys

  • Surveys are relatively new in the app and have been targeted at specific audiences. As we expand this feature you will have more opportunities to complete surveys if you wish. Remember that surveys are time critical so keep an eye out every week for new surveys.

  • You will receive an alert when you open Beauty Buddy if there is a survey waiting for you to complete. You can also check by going to your Profile page, click the burger menu in the top right hand corner and select Surveys. If there are any active surveys available for you to complete they will be listed here. Most surveys have a limited time span so check in weekly just in case!

  • We use the surveys in a number of ways:

    Sampling Notification: If a Sampling Notification Survey is sent to you it is to see if you want to be included in a sampling campaign and receive a free product to use and review. This survey currently has no points, however, you will get the points for the product review when you add it.

    Brand Survey: Where you answer questions supplied to Beauty Buddy by a brand, it will depend on the number of questions asked. From 10 to 150 points will be available. The number of points will be displayed on the survey before you start so you will always know how many points you can earn.

    Cosmetic and Personal Care Testing: When we work with a brand to substantiate product claims it is similar to product sampling but with some additional steps. The initial survey asking you if you want to be part of the campaign earns 0 points. However, the Q&A survey you complete at the end of the product trial can earn you from 100 to 250 points. The number of points available will be displayed on the Q&A survey and shared with you in advance.

    Beauty Buddy Q&As: Sometimes at Beauty Buddy we will reach out for your opinion on different subjects via a survey. You can earn between 10 and 50 points for each completed survey. The number of points will be displayed on the survey before you start so you will always know how many points you can earn.

  • You can earn points when you:

    Add honest and helpful reviews - the more detailed, the more points you'll get

    Add a video or images to your review - just make sure they are relevant and show the product

    Join our Beauty Squad and when you receive Badges

    Participate in Surveys or our Consumer Perception Trials

  • Simply go to Reward Store: Open your Profile page and select the burger menu in the top right-hand corner.

    Select Reward Store, You will see how many points you have and the rewards currently available that you can spend your points on.

    Select an available reward, confirm your choice.

    And that's it! Enjoy the feel good factor knowing that you are contributing to a better planet, helping someone through a worthy charity or have a voucher to treat yourself with!

  • You can see your current total points by opening your Profile. the points are displayed in the top left of the screen beside your profile image.

  • Currently the amount of points you can earn in one calendar month are capped. You can earn a max of 500 points for reviews, 500 points for surveys and 50 for joining our Beauty Squad. These may change over time.

  • You can earn anything from 0 to 15 points for each review. It depends, the more detail you include the more points will be rewarded. For example rating a product and adding nothing else is 0 points. However, if you also include a title and detailed description of how the product worked for you and add a quality video review of you using the product or showing the product, you can earn up to 15 points. Each time you leave a review you will be notified of the points you have earned.

    Please note images that do not include the actual product or the product in use and likewise video reviews that do not include the product being used add no value to our community. These images/videos will be removed and any points earned for these will be deducted.

  • No, the loyalty points you earn through our programme have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. They are only redeemable for the available rewards offered within the app at the time of their redemption.

  • You can check out all the valid charities, sustainability programmes and vouchers that you can spend your points on in the Rewards Store in the app. This will change regularly. Some vouchers are limited so it will be on a first come first served basis.

  • Yes, all points earned in our loyalty program will expire 12 months from the date they were earned. This means that any points not redeemed within this timeframe will be forfeited and removed from your account. We encourage our members to regularly check their points balance and redeem rewards in a timely manner to avoid any loss of points.

  • If you have a review that you added in this current month and you make changes to it to increase its points value then yes. However, reviews added from previous months can be updated but no additional points will be gained.
