ROBYN SKINCARE
Natural skincare that promotes optimum skin health
Tell us a little about Robyn Skincare?
The Robyn brand was born from personal life experience and a desire to help others. I was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease in my early 30s but I wasn’t prepared to just accept it. I set about changing and improving multiple aspects of my life, including nutrition, lifestyle and personal care products. After retraining in biochemistry, my initial focus lay with nutrition, however in 2018 I discovered I had melanoma skin cancer. This really did change my world, my outlook, and it goes without saying that I became obsessed with skin. The more research I did, the more concerned I became regarding not just skin health, but the chemicals used in face and body products and their effects on the human body. It was a natural transition to requalify as an organic cosmetic formulator, and after two further years of research and testing, Robyn was launched in late 2021.
Bio Retinol Bakuchiol is one of your key ingredients and is relatively new to Skincare
products. What are the benefits of Bio Retinal Bakuchiol?
Bio Retinol Bakuchiol is a game changer. Our particular Bakuchiol is called Sytenol ® A and it’s the
purest Bakuchiol available. It’s a plant-based alternative to retinol and has been clinically proven to
deliver the same age-defying benefits as retinol, yet without any of the side-effects, restrictions or
compromises associated to it. Some key benefits of the active are:
Doesn’t cause the skin redness, peeling or discomfort that retinol may cause
Stimulates type 1 collagen by 43% (25% more than retinol)
Reduces acne by 58% in just 6 weeks
Significantly improves firmness and elasticity of skin
Safe to apply during the day (retinol is phototoxic)
Safe during pregnancy (retinol is not)
Is suitable for sensitive skin (retinol is not)
Can be used in conjunction with AHAs/BHAs/Vitamin C based products (unlike retinol). It’s also an incredibly stable active ingredient. So if you’re steadfast on using retinol at night, you can use the Limitless Collection to complement your night-time routine.
What is the key challenge your brand is facing right now?
The hardest part of what we do is being able to reach and educate customers on what ‘truly’ natural
means within the skincare industry, and the benefits of choosing this approach to both their skin and
body health.
What can we expect from Robyn Skincare in 2023?
We have around four new products that we’re currently working on. As a formulator I’m a bit of a
problem solver so all products generally speaking will help improve a common problem. With Limitless
it was about finding an alternative yet effective solution to retinol; with the new products, we’re
concentrating on something that effects pretty much everyone at some stage in their life. Sorry – we
have to be a bit secretive about this one!
